Drum Making and Sounding

Drums were a part of early Christian celebrations. The drum we will make in this class comes from that history and can be used as a healing tool for drumming circles and for personal use. We use elk skin from animals that are hunted sustainably in the wilderness of northern Washington state. Build your drum on Friday evening, and then return on Saturday to sound your drum and practice drumming techniques.

PRESENTER: Roseann Giguere, CSJ, MDiv from United Theological Seminary, is a spiritual director and lifelong educator and co-director of the Center for Spiritual Guidance Training Program at WomanWell.

WHEN: Drum Making on Friday, September 18, 6:30-9 pm; drum sounding on Saturday, September 19, 11 am-12 pm

WHERE: Carondelet Center, 1890 Randolph Ave., St. Paul

COST: $125 (includes drum kit)
